Single Malt Scotch Whisky
According to the official Scottish rules, a whisky may be designated as single malt Scotch whisky if it a) is produced at (only) one distillery in Scotland, b) is based on malted barley, c) is produced via pot still distillation, and d) has been aged for a minimum of 3 years in oak casks with a maximum capacity of 700 liters. Among the best-selling Scottish single malt whiskies are Glenfiddich, The Macallan, and The Glenlivet, all of which come from Speyside.
