Armagnac
Armagnac is a French grape brandy produced in the Armagnac region near Bordeaux at the foot of the Pyrenees. Armagnac is a grape brandy based on white wine. In addition to the Baco grape variety, the same grape varieties as cognac are widely used: Colombard, Folle Blanche, and Ugni Blanc. The white wine is traditionally distilled only once, making it more aromatic, and the distillation is also carried out in Coffey stills (column distillation) instead of the so-called pot stills used for cognac and whisky. The Armagnac is then aged in oak barrels.
