Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Legacy Series 4 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the fourth release in the Torabhaig Legacy Series, and it is a "limited edition" released in June 2025. Sound of Sleat refers to the distillery's area (Sleat) and the nearby sea (Sound), which separates the Isle of Skye from the Scottish mainland.
Torabhaig Sound of Sleat whisky is made from a blend of Concerto and Laureate malted barley. The malted barley has been smoked with a phenol level in the grain of 78+ppm, and in the glass, it measures 14.5ppm. It is thus the least peated whisky release in the Legacy Series to date. Fermentation has taken place with Pinnacle MG+ yeast, and maturation has occurred in Quercus Alba American oak casks. The whisky has finally been bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or added coloring.
When nosing Torabhaig Sound of Sleat, notes of apricot and honey are particularly noticeable, along with a subtle and sweet pipe tobacco, as well as light salt and orange. The taste offers sweet bonfire smoke, vanilla, honey, beeswax, brine, white pepper, seaweed, and marmalade.
