Caribbean Rum and Cane Spirit

Caribbean rum and sugarcane spirits are considered some of the best in the world, and the Caribbean islands, led by Barbados, were pioneers in rum production. A large proportion of Caribbean rum does not specify the particular island from which the rum or sugarcane spirit originates, but simply states the Caribbean as the area of origin. In such cases, it is often an independent producer of rum and sugarcane spirits who obtains fully aged rum from various distilleries in the Caribbean, after which they blend and bottle it themselves as either rum (under 20 grams of sugar/liter) or sugarcane spirit (over 20 grams of sugar/liter). This applies, among others, to Caribbean rum and sugarcane spirits in some of the Rum Nation variants, the A.H. Riise series, and Dos Maderas, all of which are designated as Caribbean rum or sugarcane spirits.
