Old St. Croix 1888 Copenhagen Medal

Old St. Croix (formerly "A.H. Riise") 1888 Copenhagen Medal is based on the Great Nordic Industrial, Agricultural & Art Exhibition, which Copenhagen hosted in 1888. Albert Heinrich Riise also participated in the exhibition with his rum at the time in the West Indian pavilion, and it is said that this rum was awarded a gold medal. Other rumours/sources say that it was actually a silver medal, but in any case, it is this honour and event that lies behind the former name of this bottle.

When you smell Old St. Croix 1888 Copenhagen, you perceive notes of oak, leather, and dried apricot. The taste offers notes of warm spices, fruitcake, orange peel, and wine gums. The aftertaste follows with dried fruit, oak spices, and hints of sherry.
