The Glenrothes Whisky Makers Cut Single Malt is a whisky from the Scottish Speyside region. In 2019, Glenrothes launched their Soleo series of single malt whiskies consisting of a 12-year-old, an 18-year-old, and this Whisky Maker's Cut. With this series, Glenrothes breaks away from the old philosophy that Glenrothes only bottled its whisky when it was fully ready, and additionally released a number of "single vintage" editions. The Soleo Collection from The Glenrothes is thus a series with a new story and direction, moving away from vintages and instead focusing on good old age statements. All expressions in the series – including this The Glenrothes Whisky Makers Cut – are matured in sherry casks to create a rich and full-bodied taste experience. The Whisky Makers Edition was created by The Glenrothes' own Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, who hand-picked a number of first-fill sherry casks, which are also bottled at the whisky producer's preferred alcohol percentage (48.8%). The Glenrothes Whisky Makers Edition has an aroma of, among other things, fresh oak and resin.
