Don Q

Don Q Rum is from Puerto Rico, where the rum is produced by Destilería Serrallés, a family-owned, very modern, and even environmentally friendly rum distillery. Don Q currently has over 100,000 barrels of rum in stock, making it one of the largest distilleries in the Caribbean. The name Don Q comes from the famous story of "Don Quixote," which was the Serrallés family's favorite book. The rum is fermented from sugar cane molasses and then column distilled. At the distillery, they work with both light and heavy rum distillates, which allows for the creation of a wide range of different rum types. Don Q falls under the "Spanish rum style," but having said that, they are fundamentally against adding sugar, and therefore the sweetness is less pronounced in their products. In the Don Q rum series, we currently find, among others, the Overproof 151 edition, Double Aged Sherry Cask Finish, and Signature Release Single Barrel 2009.
