Don Q 151 Overproof Rum

Don Q 151 is an Overproof Rum from Puerto Rico produced by Destilleria Serralles. The distillery currently has over 100,000 barrels of rum in stock, making it one of the largest in the Caribbean. The name Don Q comes from the famous "Don Quixote", which was the Serralles family's favorite book. We have met Don Q several times at international rum fairs, and so far, they have focused on the American market. A bit of a shame, as the man behind Don Q, Roberto Serralles, is a very visionary and knowledgeable person. Now, finally, there is more focus on Europe and also a Danish importer. Here you get the Don Q 151 Overproof Rum edition, which can be used as a base rum in various cocktails. The rum is fermented from sugarcane molasses and then column distilled. At the distillery, they work with both light and heavy rum distillates, which makes it possible to create a wide range of different rum types. Don Q falls under the "Spanish rum style", but having said that, they are fundamentally against the addition of sugar, and therefore the sweetness is less pronounced in their products.
