Velier National Rums of Jamaica Cambridge STC♥E 2005

Velier National Rums of Jamaica Cambridge STC♥E 2005 is an authentic Pure Single Rum made from a blend of 10 ex-bourbon barrels distilled in 2005 and aged in Jamaica in a fully tropical climate until 2023. Like all Long Pond rums, the tradition of the most authentic spirits from Trelawny is preserved, an area of great biodiversity that historically represents the grand cru of Jamaican rum. Distillation takes place in double retort Pot Still. The angels' share is over 75%.

STC❤E is a well-known marque from the Cambridge Estate distillery, which closed in 1947, and has been recreated by Long Pond. This rum is made in the Continental Flavoured style, which is one of four classifications used in Jamaica, identifying rums with an ester level of 700-1600 gr/hlpa at the time of distillation. This rum has the specific mark: STC♥E, which stands for Simon Thompson Cambridge Estate. 

In the history of rum, Jamaica is absolutely considered the leading country. To rediscover its history, Velier has created the 'National Rum of Jamaica' range, which presents single-marque editions of historic Jamaican rum. The aim is to create a repertoire of these recipes, which until a few years ago had largely been unexplored. 

Velier National Rums of Jamaica Cambridge STC♥E 2005 presents itself as aged golden with coppery reflections. The nose is refined and distinct with a wonderfully well-balanced character, combining apricot, vanilla, as well as mineral and empyreumatic notes with exotic fruits like mango and a spicy undertone of ginger and cardamom. The taste experience is lively and full-bodied with a delicate texture that accurately reproduces the complexity of the nose, before unfolding with fruity notes of apricot and mango, as well as vanilla and woody nuances in the mid-palate. The finish is long and rich, where cane sugar, molasses, and geranium honey soften the palate, while the aftertaste concludes with notes of salted butter caramel and toffee, adding a rich and pleasant rounding.
