Planteray XO 20th Anniversary Barbados rum is aged in fine small cognac casks at the Pierre Ferrand cognac house in the heart of Cognac, France. The soft, French limousine oak casks, which were first used for maturing the very best Grande Champagne Cognac, contribute soft fruit, grated orange peel, and delicate vanilla notes. Please note that this product was previously called: Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum Gift Box w/glasses, but Plantation has now changed its name to Planteray.
Planteray XO 20th Anniversary has a dark mahogany color with an amber-gold hue. Aroma: vanilla, dried fruits, coconut, and baked bananas are the very first notes that hit the nose. Dark sweet toffee, milk chocolate, and oriental spices attest to quiet aging in dark cellars. Finally, a hint of burnt barrel and tea leaves is perceived. Taste: a great sweetness fills the entire mouth. Lots of vanilla, apricot, and raisin are among the first notes tasted. This is followed by a spicy taste of cinnamon, Demerara cane sugar, and cocoa. Planteray XO 20th Anniversary has notes of sweet smoldering oak, whisky blend, pipe tobacco, and Crème Brûlée.
Under its old name - Plantation XO 20th Anniversary - it won gold in the "Premium Aged Rum" category at the Miami Rum Festival 2015. Here you get the rum in an inviting gift box with 2 original Planteray glasses.
