Isle of Fionia Peated Single Malt Danish Whisky Nyborg Destilleri

Isle of Fionia Peated Single Malt Danish Whisky from Nyborg Destilleri is a medium peated (35 ppm) whisky, bottled at a slightly higher alcohol content to enhance the flavour nuances.

The Isle of Fionia Peated whisky is aged in two different types of casks: 1st fill bourbon casks (from Jack Daniels) and STR wine casks made of white oak. The use of STR casks (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) works by first scraping 5 millimetres off the staves on the inside (Shaved), after which the inside of the cask is again toasted (Toasted) and re-charred (Recharred).

When nosing and tasting the whisky, sweet notes of, among other things, Finnish liquorice, toffee, sea salt, ripe fruit, iodine, and sweet bonfire smoke are perceived.

Isle of Fionia Little Isle Single Malt Danish Whisky is unfiltered, organic, and has no added colour. 48% - 70 cl.
