Glasgow 1770

Glasgow Distillery is a relatively young distillery, representing a renewal of Glasgow's whisky scene. When Glasgow Distillery opened in 2014, it was the first distillery to open in the Scottish industrial city in more than 100 years. The name Glasgow Distillery is taken from a distillery of the same name that opened in 1770 but had to close its doors in the early 1900s. The Glasgow 1770 whisky series is thus named after the founding year of the distillery's predecessor. The first whisky in the series, Glasgow 1770 The Original, was released in 2017, and at the time of writing, the series comprises 3 whiskies, each with its own distinctive character.
