S.B.S Rum: Single Barrel Selection
S.B.S stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this exclusive series of rum is created by the Danish rum importer 1423 ApS, which is behind many well-known releases and, among other things, the very popular rum advent calendar 24 Days Of Rum. Single Barrel Selection is a series of single barrel rums from all over the world brought to Ringe on Funen. The core of the SBS philosophy is authenticity: no added sugar, non-chill filtered, higher alcohol content – some bottlings are even bottled at cask strength.
From cask to bottle with care
The barrels are either purchased directly from the distilleries or through specialized "Rum brokers". They are then transported to Denmark, where they are stored in 1423 ApS's own warehouse. Depending on the rum and the available barrels, it is decided whether the rum should have an extra finish in selected barrels to enhance the individual rum's flavor profile. Each barrel undergoes an individual inspection and remains in the warehouse until the rum has reached its optimal expression. Only then is it hand-bottled, thus completing the cycle of craftsmanship with the care that characterizes the SBS series.

Many may know the advent calendar 24 Days of Rum from 1423 ApS, which usually leans towards the sweeter end of the rum spectrum. However, this year's 2026 edition takes a completely different direction than previous editions, as it exclusively contains non-sweet rums from S.B.S. From their impressive series, you will thus experience 24 different unique and exclusive natural rum tasting experiences that cannot be exactly replicated. In the calendar, you will find many different countries, distilleries, cask types, flavor profiles, etc. The average Vol. / Abv. is 50.7%, so you get "bang for your buck."
