Wilson & Morgan 2011 Speybridge Single Malt Whisky

Since 1992, independent whisky bottler Wilson & Morgan has introduced a good selection of rare Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The casks are stored in many different locations around the world, and in many cases, they are further matured in special casks from port wine, rum, or Marsala wine in Italy. All whiskies are personally selected by Fabio Rossi, who chooses them according to a simple rule: "trust your palate and your instinct."

Wilson & Morgan 2011 Speybridge is a dry, fresh, and invigorating single malt from a renowned distillery in Speyside, which we cannot reveal, with a vinous character enhanced by a 14-month finish in former Oloroso casks. 

The initial aroma is immediately dominated by the sherry: Very dry, firm, and tannic, but also with hints of aperitif bitterness, orange peel, and roasted chestnuts. It opens on the palate, revealing further layers of complexity, especially with the help of a drop of water: In addition to the intense Oloroso character, we find grain, flour, bitter cocoa, a hint of tamarind. It has a subdued honey sweetness in the background, but the main characteristic is dry and nutty. The sweetness emerges in the finish along with a very powerful explosion of spices and tannins.

Only 776 bottles of Wilson & Morgan 2011 Speybridge have been bottled. 57.1% - 70 cl.
