Vermouth Moderne - The Clumsy Bear

Since its launch in September 2021, Vermouth Moderne has spread across the country. Created by Den Klodsede Bjørn, with Naja and Frederik at the helm, in collaboration with Heiko Hoos, it is produced in southern Germany from Gewürztraminer and Muskateller grapes, which come from Heiko's cousins' vineyard.

The result is a phenomenal vermouth, where the first sip immediately calls for the next. The taste elegantly balances fresh, tart, and sweet, with a spicy profile of citrus, lemon verbena, juniper, coriander seeds, and cardamom. The Italian style shines through with its spicy sweetness and aromatic complexity. The aroma clearly reveals the characteristic grapes and is complemented by fresh notes of grapefruit from the generous amount of citrus. The taste experience evokes memories of a fusion of Mexican and Moroccan cuisine, full of sun, herbs, and dry citrus notes. Wine crystals may appear at the bottom, which is merely a sign of high quality and a natural expression of its mineral-rich character.

Vermouth Moderne is versatile and can be mixed with almost any spirit for classic cocktails such as Manhattan, Martinez, or Martini, whether you use gin, pisco, tequila, vodka, or mezcal. It also tastes fantastic neat over ice with an orange slice, or as a refreshing highball with tonic or grape soda. 17.5% - 75 cl.
