The Macallan Classic Cut 2023 Edition is an exceptional single malt whisky. It has a golden barley color, and the whisky reveals an elegant aroma of pears, elderflower, light almond notes, and rich vanilla bean. On the palate, it presents sweet, creamy vanilla, juicy pears, lemon peel, and a hint of delicate oak. The whisky's strength of 50.3% primarily highlights the pear flavor, but with the addition of 'a splash' of water and a reduction to 40%, a taste of almond biscotti clearly emerges. This creates a rich and varied taste experience, concluding with a medium finish of sweet oak and almond biscotti.

'A splash' of water in this context should be understood as a mixing ratio of 1:4 (1 part water to 4 parts whisky). Of course, you can also just use the more normal drops of water, whereby the flavor direction simply shifts from pear to almond biscotti.
