The Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength is a peated single malt whisky from the Isle of Arran in Scotland. Isle of Arran Distillers usually does not produce peated whisky, but in the Machrie Moor editions, you'll find approximately 20 ppm peat, and in this Cask Strength version, the whisky has been bottled at 56.2% vol., so the peat smoke and other flavour notes are even more pronounced. The Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength whisky has aromas of citrus and peat smoke, while the taste offers notes of garden fruits, red berries, vanilla, and coconut. The Isle of Arran whisky distillery is a relatively new distillery, established in 1995, and it is located – as the name suggests – on the Isle of Arran, a very scenic area southwest of Glasgow. The Arran single malt whisky is primarily matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak and sherry casks made of European oak.
