Stauning R.Y.E. Maple Syrup Cask Whisky of Denmark is a re-release of a previously popular bottling, as the original Stauning Rye Whisky with a Maple Syrup cask finish was an experimental cask maturation that turned into a huge success.

It all started as an experiment to mature Rye Whisky in Maple Syrup casks from the American state of Vermont. This created a very special whisky that won one of the main prizes at the World Whiskies Awards 2023 in the "World's Best Single Cask Single Rye" category. Specifically, cask no. 517 won this award. The exact, award-winning experiment cannot, of course, be replicated exactly, but with this release, Stauning comes very close to the original award-winner with a balanced whisky where rich sweetness, warm spices, and great depth unite.

When nosing this Stauning R.Y.E. Maple Syrup Cask Whisky of Denmark, warm spices and dried fruit are perceived. The taste offers notes of caramelized apple, ripe plum, and toasted oak.
