South Star 10 Year Old Highland Single Malt Whisky

South Star 10-year-old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is composed of 10 selected Hogsheads casks, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 into only 2148 bottles. 

The Highland style is often heavier and a little spicier than Speyside, but still sweet. Peat can occur, as some distilleries maintain older practices, but there is no single representative whisky for the Highlands.

This 10-year-old whisky, originating from a undisclosed distillery, has an aroma of dried orange with notes of sweet pipe tobacco. The taste is creamy with notes of dark chocolate and nuts, leading to a long, creamy aftertaste with nutty notes.

South Star 10-year-old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is released by the independent whisky bottler South Star Spirits, who, in addition to this selected Highland whisky, has also released small batch whiskies from the Speyside and Islay regions.

The people behind South Star Spirits also plan to open a new distillery, Dál Riata, in the heart of Campbeltown. In the future, the distillery will produce single malts in line with the traditions of the Scottish west coast. 48% - 70 cl.
