SBS Barbados 2013 Bourbon and Port Cask Rum (bottled for Germany & Austria)

SBS Barbados 2013 Bourbon and Port Cask rum is "bottled for Germany & Austria", but we were allowed to purchase some bottles for the shop in connection with an SBS rum tasting.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rum is made by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS. SBS Rum releases are unsweetened (no added sugar), non-chill filtered and at a higher alcohol strength.

This particular Single Barrel Selection Barbados 2013 rum is molasses-based and distilled in both a column still and a pot still in 2013. The rum has matured in ex-bourbon casks and used port wine casks, respectively, and it was bottled at 55% abv. in September 2025. The aroma reveals vanilla, coconut, caramel, oak spices, tobacco, leather, red berries, and plums. The taste is dry and full-bodied with notes of, among other things, toffee, spicy oak, dark fruits and a hint of pepper.

The S.B.S Barbados 2013 rum is not chill-filtered, and it is limited to only 312 bottles. 55% - 70 cl.
