Pierre Huet Pommeau de Normandie
This Pommeau de Normandie is from the Calvados producer Pierre Huet, and the bottle is Pommeau de Normandie AOC certified.
Pierre Huet Pommeau de Normandie has been aged for 36-48 months in oak barrels (AOC regulations require a minimum of 14 months). The production used 2/3 apples of the varieties Fréquin Rouge, Binet Rouge, Bisquet et Douce Moën, and 1/3 Calvados Pays d’Auge 1 year was also used.
The Pommeau is sweet like a liqueur, but the sweetness feels "natural" and integrated rather than synthetic. The aroma and taste reveal baked fruits, prunes, cherries, cocoa, and honey, among others. It can be enjoyed both as an aperitif (preferably at 8-10 degrees Celsius) and as an accompaniment to dishes such as foie gras, melon, apple desserts, and chocolate desserts.
Pierre Huet Pommeau de Normandie can be stored for 1-2 years in the bottle and for 6 months after opening. Please contact us if you would like to know when we received the latest batch of our bottles in stock.
