Magnum Old English Gin - 1.5 liters

Old English Gin was created by Henrik Hammer, who is also behind Geranium Gin. Old English Gin is an attempt to recreate the gin that was distilled in old London. Gin has historically been a very popular drink in London, and one even speaks of Beer Street and Gin Lane, which symbolize the great importance gin has had in London. In olden days, England imported large quantities of champagne, and it was therefore natural that gin was bottled in empty champagne bottles and sealed with cork and wax. Henrik Hammer has recreated this style with his Old English Gin, which is also distilled in very old pot stills in England. The recipe with 11 spices dates back to 1783, so it's safe to say that the attempt to recreate the old English gin is very thoroughly executed. Old English Gin is a lovely dry and elegant gin with a hint of richness. It has an aroma of flowers and juniper, as well as notes of citrus fruit. The taste has notes of grass, citrus, and flowers.
