With Nikka Miyagikyo Discovery Peated 2021 whisky and Yoichi Single Malt Non-Peated whisky, Nikka swaps the usual roles of its two distilleries. While Miyagikyo typically produces light, unpeated whiskies and the Yoichi distillery produces heavier, peated whiskies, this time it's the other way around. The goal with Nikka Miyagikyo Discovery Peated 2021 whisky is to both showcase the breadth of what single malts can be and to surprise connoisseurs by breaking with conventions. Nikka Miyagikyo Discovery Peated 2021 whisky has a rich taste with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and warm spices. There are notes of stone fruit such as peach and apricot, and plenty of smoke, without overpowering the rest. Strong esters in the aftertaste.
