Nikka From the Barrel Blended Whisky
Nikka From the Barrel Pre-blended is "a blended whisky at cask strength". From the Barrel is exactly what the name suggests: straight from the barrel; in other words, a blended whisky that could become a blended whisky if it were chill-filtered and diluted with water. The Japanese, however, do not do this but bottle it directly.
Nikka From the Barrel Pre-blended Whisky has a refined, complex aroma of butter biscuits, orange peel, mint, walnut, and toffee. The taste is powerful and lightly smoked with pepper and oak, butter, cinnamon sugar, and caramelized apple. The aftertaste has ripe stone fruit, oak, and vanilla. Can be drunk neat, but also unfolds beautifully with a few drops of water. 51.4% – 50 cl.

Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. is owned by the Japanese Asahi Breweries and has 2 distilleries in Japan, one of which is located in Yoichi in northern Japan, and the other in Miyagikyo, north of Tokyo. The founder, Masataka Taketsuru, was trained in the art of whisky in Scotland in 1918-1920, and after returning to Japan, he started Nikka in 1934.
