Mount Gay Rum The Port Cask Expression rum 55% is part of Mount Gay's annual Master Blender Collection release, produced in Barbados. The 2020 edition was blended by Mount Gay's new female Master Blender, Trudiann Branker. Mount Gay Rum The Port Cask Expression is a blend of column-distilled rum aged in Tawny port wine casks for 5 years, and pot still rum aged in American whiskey casks for 14 years and then finished in Tawny port wine casks for 1 year. The aroma includes notes of vanilla, caramel, and almond. Mount Gay Rum The Port Cask Expression rum has a taste of cherry, dried fruit, oak, and almond, among others. 6,570 bottles of this rum were produced, which is non-chill filtered (to preserve as much of the original aroma and flavour as possible). Bottled at cask strength 55% ABV - 70 cl.
