Michter's Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is one of Michter's most limited production items. It continues the legacy of America's first whiskey category (rye) and America's first whiskey company (Michter's, originally known as Shenk's).

The Barrel Strength whiskey is produced as single cask bottlings, resulting in limited quantities that also vary in alcohol strength. Typically, they range between 53.5% ABV and 57.5% ABV. In fact, the alcohol is put into barrels at 51.5% ABV, meaning that the alcohol content increases during the aging period because more water evaporates than alcohol.

This specific Michter's Barrel Strength Rye Whiskey single cask bottling came in at 53.7% ABV (111 Proof). All Barrel Strength releases are aged in charred oak barrels until they meet Michter's exceptional quality standards. It is then further mellowed by their signature filtration.

Michter's Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey offers deep notes of toffee, cinnamon, cherry, vanilla, and oak spices. 53.7% - 70 cl.
