Martha's 40 Year Old Tawny Port

Martha's 40-Year Tawny is an exceptional port wine, matured in oak barrels. A result of an extraordinary aging period. The wine has an alcohol content of 20% and is a blend of 6 different grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela, and Tinta Roriz.

Martha's 40-Year Tawny presents itself in a deep, classic tawny color, indicating depth and quality. As you bring the glass to your nose, you are met with a soft, rich, and elegant aroma, setting the stage for an extraordinary taste experience. On the palate, it reveals strong oak notes, beautifully combined with the sweet taste of marzipan and a hint of vanilla. A wine that is both powerful and sophisticated in its expression.

Serve lightly chilled, and it is perfect on its own or paired with rich desserts such as Portuguese egg tart, nut tart, or rice pudding (risalamande).

Martha’s Wine & Spirits was established in 1727 in the Douro Valley in Portugal by the Martha family with their first vineyard. Initially, the family only produced grapes, which were sold to other wine producers, but six generations ago they began their own port wine production. They handle everything from harvest, production, bottling, and commercialization themselves. They are what one might call a field-to-bottle company.
