Lindores Thiron 2024 Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a release that completes the circle in the history of Lindores Abbey's origin, as in 1191 a group of Tironesian monks came from the town of Thiron-Gardais in France, and they were the ones who founded Lindores Abbey. Now, the Lindores distillery has re-established the connection to its French roots and sources wood for its casks from the same area.

Lindores Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky not only has an incredibly long history. It has also undergone an unusually long fermentation of no less than 117 hours. After fermentation, Lindores distills the whisky on a sister spirits still, which is actually 2 stills. This method provides twice as much contact with the copper, and together with the long fermentation, it gives extra many flavour nuances and more character to the whisky.

The casks for this specific Lindores Thiron 2024 Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky are carefully designed to reflect the unique taste and quality that comes from using a Virgin Oak cask from Thiron-Gardais, which is combined with whisky aged in Bourbon and STR Red Wine Barriques casks. For every tree felled in the Thiron-Gardais forests and used for Lindores casks, six new trees are planted to ensure longevity and sustainability.

Lindores Thiron 2024 Whisky is non-chill filtered and without added colouring. When nosing and tasting the whisky, balanced and complex notes of vanilla, roasted banana, cinnamon, baking spices, caramel and roasted chestnuts emerge.
