Lindores Friar John Cor Cask Strength Chapter III Congregation Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the 3rd release in "The Cask Strength Congregation Batch" series from Lindores Abbey. Following the success of the first two chapters, this third edition continues the tradition with a new recipe that will hopefully delight every whisky enthusiast. Like all Lindores releases, it is uncoloured, non-chill filtered and bottled on site at cask strength at 60.2%.
The new Lindores Friar John Cor Cask Strength Chapter III whisky has been matured in Amontillado and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, as well as ex-bourbon casks. The whiskies are then vatted and further aged in refill sherry casks, which brings out extra depth, complexity and harmonious flavour notes.
The history of the ancient Lindores Abbey monastery began way back in 1191, when a group of Tironensian monks from the town of Thiron-Gardais in France passed by, and it was they who founded Lindores Abbey in the Scottish Lowlands. If you are visiting Scotland, it is possible to book a guided tour to see the historic site and whisky production.
