Romdeluxe King Hjarne - Caribbean Rum
Kong Hjarne - Caribbean Rum is from Romdeluxe's new rum series 'Vikings in the Coastal Land', which they have created in collaboration with Destination Kystlandet and historian Casper Clemmensen. The series consists of 3 rums, and this rum pays tribute to King Hjarne, who seized power in Jutland. He built his Viking hall on Hjarnø, from where he ruled his kingdom. The other two rums in the series pay tribute to King Hjarne's wife, Queen Alrune, and his son, Prince Endlau.
Kong Hjarne - Caribbean Rum is a blend of rums from Jamaica, Trinidad, and Venezuela. This is a rum on the sweeter end of the spectrum, though with a maximum of 20 grams of sugar per liter, yet still offers richness and power.
Upon first impression, the nose catches notes of vanilla, brown sugar, leather, and overripe tropical fruit. When the rum hits the palate, one experiences notes of pepper, oak, vanilla, pickled peaches, red berries, burnt caramel, and dried fruit, which create a complex and deep flavor. The subsequent long-lasting finish is characterized by a warm, spicy sensation, with a subtle presence of muscovado sugar.
The rum is bottled at 40% ABV and the bottle contains 70 cl.
