Kirk and Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior is a rum bottling from 3 Badge Beverage, located in the old fire station in the city of Sonoma, California. Members of the Sebastiani family previously extinguished fires from this very fire station, and when it came up for sale in 2014, it was an obvious choice for the company's new home. In addition to firefighting, the family had also started their first winery in 1904, and it was natural to also include a range of luxury spirits, including the Kirk and Sweeney rum series from the Dominican Republic. The rum is named after a schooner that is said to have smuggled rum from the Caribbean to the USA during Prohibition.

Kirk and Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior Dominican Rum is one of the successors to Kirk and Sweeney's 12-year, 18-year, and 23-year rum series. Kirk and Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior is a molasses-based rum, blended from carefully selected rums aged 5-23 years, which have matured in Californian and French oak barrels. The rum has aromas of dried fruit and toasted bread, and flavor notes of vanilla, caramel, and honey, followed by almonds, dried figs, prunes, and sherry.
