GlenDronach Ode to the Embers Single Malt Scotch Whisky
GlenDronach Ode to the Embers Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is one of three NAS (non-age statement) 2025 editions in The Master's Anthology series from The GlenDronach Distillery in Aberdeenshire.
What's special about the Ode to the Embers whisky is that it has been matured in a combination of primarily Oloroso sherry casks, but also a certain proportion of the signature PX sherry casks for which GlenDronach is so well known. Crucially, this is also a peated whisky edition from GlenDronach (18-24 ppm). The cask maturation and peat element make this the most aromatic whisky in the Master's Anthology series. According to Global Brand Ambassador, Stewart Buchanan, the whisky is 6-10 years old.
When you nose the GlenDronach Ode to the Embers Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, you perceive cinnamon, toffee, apple, caramelized walnuts, and bonfire-smoked orange. Tasting the whisky then reveals delicate notes of raisins, walnuts, chocolate, caramel, and peat smoke, which continues with hints of nutmeg, syrup, and burnt clove in the finish.

GlenDronach
GlenDronach is located in the Highland region and is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. GlenDronach was founded by James Allardice, who in 1826 obtained a license to produce whisky on the site. Production is based on non-peated malt, which is sourced externally. Maturation takes place in used bourbon casks and European oak casks, but sherry cask maturation is also used, which helps to create GlenDronach's characteristic whisky flavour...
