Gin & Tonic Cocktail Package

Gin & Tonic is a popular drink with few ingredients, gin and tonic. It can be enjoyed on a warm summer day or a stormy evening in front of the fireplace. With its bitter aftertaste, a gin and tonic is the perfect counterpoint to overly sweet drinks.

It is said to have been created in the 18th century by Dutch and British colonial companies, but many believe this to be a myth...

The cocktail has its origins in quinine-containing tonic water, which was used to combat malaria. The taste of quinine was too bitter, so sugar and alcohol were added to make it more pleasant to consume. The combination of gin and tonic water was a revelation of flavor and was democratized among the British military and colonists in the early 19th century. Today, tonic water contains less quinine than previous products, and it has a sweeter taste - which has made the addition of sugar unnecessary. But tonic's ability to complement gin is unsurpassed among mixed drinks.

Suggested recipe:

• 4 cl London Dry Gin
• 10 cl Tonic
• Garnish: Lime, cucumber, juniper berries, grapefruit slices, hibiscus flower or cornflower.

You purchase the following in the cocktail package:

• 1 bottle Hayman's London Dry Gin
• 4 bottles Fever Tree Indian Tonic 50 cl
  

Steps:

• Fill your Gin & Tonic glass  with ice cubes.
• Add gin and tonic.
• Stir gently.
• Finish by garnishing with your choice of garnish.

The quantities presented in this recipe are merely our preference, but you can, of course, make the cocktail as you wish.

With the specified quantities, you will need 1.75 liters of tonic water for a whole bottle of gin.
