English Harbour Madeira Cask Finish combines the legacy of the founders of English Harbour with the ancient tradition of rum production. This rum builds on the English Harbour 5 Year Old, which ages for at least 5 years in Bourbon barrels, after which this edition is finished for 5 months in Madeira Wine Barrels from the prestigious Blandy's Madeira Wine Company on Madeira, where English Harbour's founders originate from. Once the aging is complete, 5% of English Harbour's 10-year-old rum is added to the final blend, and the product is bottled at 46% using a non-chill filtered method to preserve the product's integrity. This union results in a blend with well-balanced notes, flawless smoothness, and rich flavor nuances.

Unlike English Harbour Port Cask Finish and English Harbour Sherry Cask Finish, where only one type of wine cask was used, four different types of Madeira casks were used for this edition. The casks are a blend of Bual, Sercial, Malvasia, and Tinta, which gives this finish a complexity that cannot be easily described.

The rum has a clear golden color and a warm, welcoming aroma of walnuts and hazelnuts, opening the door to clear cinnamon notes, fresh citrus, and marzipan. The taste experience begins with soft floral tones, leading the way to the marzipan that was also present in the aroma.
