DOM Bénédictine Liqueur

Bénédictine D.O.M is a liqueur dating all the way back to 1510, made from a secret recipe with 27 traditional roots, herbs, and spices.

The liqueur is distilled and aged in a flamboyant palace, built in Fécamp, Normandy, France, in honour of this unique liqueur.

Bénédictine selects the ingredients for the product from five continents, with quality as the sole criterion for selection.

Some of the herbs and spices have been used since biblical times, and many still have a place in folk remedies. The origin of these plants is like a journey around the world: from Greece to Africa, to Indonesia, India, and beyond.

The secret recipe for Bénédictine is said to date from 1510 and is based on local medicinal plants enhanced by oriental spices. It was originally made by the Benedictine monk Dom Bernardo Vincelli and the monastery in Fécamp, Normandy, France.

The last surviving monk from the monastery in Fécamp passed on the secret recipe to the Le Grand family to preserve Vincelli's and the Benedictine monks' legacy.

Alexandre Le Grand was passionately committed to protecting the secret recipe of this local elixir and its production process, which is why the same traditional artisanal approach is used to this day.

He also chose to retain the indication D.O.M., which is a motto of the Benedictines and stands for Deo Optimo Maximo (God infinitely good, infinitely great). It also refers to the Latin word Dominus (Master), which is given to Benedictine abbots.

Bénédictine D.O.M presents itself with a rich copper colour that shimmers with golden highlights. The aroma reveals a herbaceous and spicy scent, where the citrus scent of mandarin peel blends with subtle notes of pine. The taste reveals a silky smooth and full-bodied experience on the palate, where light honey and fresh citrus notes dance together with soft almonds. 40% - 70 cl.
