BenRiach The Twelve is a 12-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. This Benriach 12 yo is made using no less than 3 different cask types: sherry casks, bourbon casks, and port casks. When nosing BenRiach The Twelve 12-year-old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, notes of honey, cocoa, and forest berries are perceived. The taste is without peat smoke, but instead offers notes of maraschino cherry, orange, hazelnuts, raisins, and spicy mocha.
Master Blender, Rachel Barrie, gives the following summary of the bottle: "Sherry rich maturation brings incredible depth to this expression and layers of dark berry fruits. It encaptures the flavours of Benriach in the autumn."

BenRiach
The BenRiach whisky distillery is located in the Speyside region and has struggled for its existence on several occasions. The distillery opened in the 1890s but closed again as early as 1900. In 1965, BenRiach reopened but then had to close again in 2002. In 2004, new owners took over, and since then, quite a few new BenRiach whisky variants have entered the market with different flavour profiles and cask maturation types.
