Barceló Organic Rum

Ron Barceló from the Dominican Republic is arguably the world's "greenest" distillery. The distillery is environmentally certified according to the international ISO 14.001 standard and produces natural rum without added sugar, and the rum is made from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice (like Rhum Agricole). This Barceló Organic rum is, compared to other Barceló variants, also made as an organic rum. Barceló began preparing the sugarcane fields as early as 2015 to ensure that no fertilizer residues remained in the plantation, which spans an area of ​​1,500 km2. The organic sugarcane plantations are located 3 km from the distillery, thus preventing excess water from damaging the organic fields. Furthermore, organic yeast has been used, and as a small curiosity, the label on Barceló Organic is made from vegetable fibers from sugarcane and printed with organic ink. Barcelo Organic rum has an aroma of caramelized cherry, cocoa, and tobacco, among other things. In the taste, we find mature fruits, roasted dried fruits, and a hint of red pepper. 37.5% ABV - 70 cl.
