The Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask single malt whisky from Speyside has been matured for a minimum of 15 years in used European Oloroso sherry casks. "Single Barrel" in this case means that this bottle is 1 of no more than 800 bottles drawn from a single cask. Each cask is thus unique and has slight variations in taste, but common to all releases of The Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask 15 year old whisky are classic sherry cask notes of, among other things, dried fruit, nuts, oak, and sherry/raisins. 47.8% - 70cl.

Balvenie

The Balvenie whisky distillery, located in Dufftown in the Speyside region, is a neighbour to Glenfiddich and dates back to the 1890s. The distillery still carries out its own malting, where the germinating barley is turned by hand. Balvenie single malt whisky is primarily matured in American bourbon casks, while certain variants are finished in European oak sherry casks. The whisky is often characterised as full-bodied with notes of honey.
