Ardmore Traditional Cask Single Malt Whisky
In the production of Ardmore Traditional Cask, peat smoke is not the only traditional method maintained, even though Ardmore only released their first single malt in 2007. The whisky at Ardmore is matured twice. The first maturation takes place in regular oak casks. Subsequently, the whisky is matured in much smaller "quarter casks," which, due to greater contact between wood and whisky, result in faster maturation and a unique smoothness in the whisky. Quarter casks were common in the 19th century but are an expensive affair today, used by very few distilleries. Ardmore Traditional Cask single malt whisky has a soft and creamy taste of peat with nuances of vanilla, apple, and milk chocolate. Colour: Dark golden. Aroma: Spicy, soft, and aromatic. 46% - 70 cl.

Ardmore whisky distillery, established in 1898, is among the largest in Scotland, as some of its production is used for blended whisky (primarily Teacher's). Up to 70,000 liters of alcohol can be produced per week, and the whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak. Ardmore whisky distillery is located in the Highland region.
