Ron Abuelo XV 15 Year Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish Rum is part of Abuelo's 2016 Collection Finish releases, which also include an Oloroso Sherry Finish and a Tawny Port Finish. There has long been a big leap in price (and quality?) from Abuelo's 12-year edition to their exclusive Centuria edition, and with Ron Abuelo XV 15 Year Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish, we get a rum that lies in between these two. The rum is said to have been selected from among Abuelo's finest reserves, and after initial aging in American oak barrels, the final aging took place in Napoleon Cognac casks. 40% - 70cl.

Ron Abuelo is a consistently medium-sweet rum series, which, however, even from its 7-year-old edition, also boasts good complexity that balances the sweetness in a pleasant way. In other words, Ron Abuelo offers good rum for your money! The distillery's showpiece is Ron Abuelo Centuria Reserva de la Familia, which was named Best New Rum at the Golden Rum Barrel Awards in October 2011 in London.
