Carupano

Ron Carupano is a family-owned distillery in Venezuela that produces full-bodied rum according to the "Spanish style". Its history dates back to 1762, when the Spanish captain, Felix del Fierro, founded the hacienda in the Carupano valley in Macarapana. Ron Carupano is today among the leading rum producers in Venezuela, a country also known for Diplomatico and Santa Teresa, among others. Carupano also boasts the country's first and only female Master Blender, Carmen López de Bastidas. Typically, distilleries blend from barrels that are not completely full, but at Ron Carupano, the barrels are sealed and are not refilled as the rum evaporates.
