Bumbu The Original is produced in Barbados, the cradle of rum, where the first rum saw the light of day 400 years ago. For centuries, sailors and merchants in the Caribbean have mixed rum with spices and fruit and called it 'bumbu' - hence the name of this sugar cane spirit. Bumbu The Original is based on molasses from sustainably produced sugar cane from as many as 8 different countries, and the unique properties of the sugar cane give the taste complexity. The product is column-distilled at a distillery in Barbados, founded in 1893, and after production, exotic fruits are added to extract flavor and sweetness from the fruits. The result is Bumbu The Original, an award-winning, very tasty sugar cane spirit with flavors of caramel, cream, vanilla, and banana. Bumbu won triple gold at the Los Angeles International Spirit competition in 2017 and again in 2018.
