Brandy / Spirits
Brandy literally means "burnt wine" (brændevin in Danish) and refers to spirits from regions other than the Cognac and Armagnac areas of France. Brandy is primarily produced by distilling wine and then typically aged for up to 1 year. However, there are also other types of brandy, such as Danish apple brandy, cherry brandy, etc. Spanish brandy is relatively well-known, with brands such as Carlos I (also called Carlos Primero), Cardenal Mendoza, the Torres series, and others.
