This very special Rum Nation Rare Rums Venezuela is a 15-year-old rum, produced in 2010 at Destilleria Sofa in Venezuela. After fermentation and distillation, the rum was tropically aged for 13 years in Venezuela in Cask No. 72-74, after which it received an additional 2 years of aging in Europe. The entire aging process took place in used bourbon barrels.
When you nose the well-aged Rum Nation Rare Rums Venezuela 15-year-old rum, you'll detect tropical fruits, candied citrus, and warm vanilla, among other notes. The taste is creamy and offers notes of mango, roasted banana, and oak spices. No sweetness has been added, so here you get a raw and powerful rum, and at a higher alcohol strength to boot.

Rum Nation was founded by Italian Fabio Rossi, who released his first rum in 1999, and Rum Nation is a so-called "independent bottler," as is also the case with, for example, Planteray (formerly Plantation). Rossi sought out finished rum distillates with different geographical characteristics from the Caribbean, Central and South America, which he blended and bottled in Italy.
