Rum Nation Rare Rums Caroni 25-year-old comes from the legendary closed distillery in Trinidad. After 70 months in former whisky casks, the rum has been 'tamed' a little. The tannins in the rum are enhanced by a full-bodied taste of raisins, without being overpowering in any way.

On the nose, you first experience esters such as bergamot and cola, but also more aromatic spices like anise and liquorice, as well as the 'usual' dark oak notes. The finish in whisky casks is more noticeable in the taste. The rum begins by being full-bodied, juicy, almost velvety with its raisin character and taste of orange marmalade. Just when you think this rum is sweeter and softer than expected, the more typical and powerful notes of liquorice, clove, and black coffee hit with full force. You are left with strong and acidic tannins. A rum with great complexity that develops significantly in the glass.

Rum Nation was founded by Italian Fabio Rossi, who released his first rum in 1999, and Rum Nation is a so-called "independent bottler," as is also the case with, for example, Planteray (formerly Plantation).
