Ron Cartavio XO is from Peru, from where we also find the very popular Millonario series. Cartavio XO rum has been solera-aged for 18 years in casks of French, American, and Slovenian oak, which has made the rum rich in flavor and body. The long aging has also given the rum a deep, dark mahogany color.

The tasting notes are diverse and include citrus, vanilla, walnut, dried fruits, and sherry. Ron Cartavio XO contains blended rums from 10 to 30 years old with an expected average age of around 18 years. The bottle is beautifully designed and comes in a gift tube. Ron Cartavio XO is a recommendable bottle in the category of sweet rums, as it maintains a good balance between sweetness and spice.

Ron Cartavio Solera 12 years is an easy-drinking rum with good sweetness and a little sharpness, while the older Ron Cartavio XO offers greater complexity and, according to Rombo.dk's own taste buds, is an excellent rum with good balance.
