Mount Gay Eclipse Rum

Mount Gay Eclipse rum is also an exceptional product in many ways. The rum is produced from sugarcane grown on Mount Gay's own plantation and with water from the underground spring that runs beneath the plantation. After 72 hours of fermentation of sugarcane and water in the finest oak barrels, Mount Gay rum is double-distilled – just like cognac – in copper pot stills. Finally, Mount Gay is matured in original Kentucky Bourbon white oak barrels, which give Mount Gay its characteristic golden color and a slightly smoky, round taste. Mount Gay is very well-known among sailors, partly because Mount Gay sponsors the most prestigious sailing competition in the world: the America's Cup. Mount Gay Eclipse rum has a taste that, consistent with the aroma, is soft, rich, and well-balanced with burnt oak, burnt almonds, and fruit. Color: Golden amber.
