Martha’s Wine & Spirits was established in 1727, in the Douro Valley in Portugal, by the Martha family with their first vineyard. Initially, the family merely produced grapes that were sold to other winemakers, but six generations ago they began their own port wine production. They handle everything from harvest, production, bottling, and commercialization themselves. They are what one might call a field-to-bottle company.
