Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop is Lochlea's second single malt release and a spring whisky that represents life on the Ayrshire farm where the distillery is located. At Lochlea, they grow their own grain and distil and mature their whisky on site, and with their seasonal, small batch whiskies, they aim to reflect farm life as it changes with the seasons. Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop represents the spring season, when the grain is sown so it is ready in September. The whisky has matured in 23 first-fill ex-bourbon casks since September 2018 and was bottled in spring 2022. Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop has tasting notes of green apples, pears and raspberries and buttery biscuits, leading to green, floral notes in the finish. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has no added artificial colour. Limited to only 300 bottles for sale on the Danish market. 48% - 70 cl.
