Le Riche Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Le Riche Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is nothing short of a fantastic Cabernet Sauvignon from Le Riche in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Bold, concentrated red wine with balanced tannins, flavors of dark plums, mint, blackcurrant, and dark chocolate. Awarded "Best Cabernet Sauvignon" by Platters Wine Guide, MW Tim Atkin, and winner of the Fine Wine Challenge against wines from five overseas countries.

Reserve status is only granted if the grapes and the resulting wine live up to an extraordinary standard. Hand-picked grapes from older, lower-yielding vines are used. Fermentation is carried out with a selected yeast strain under controlled temperatures. Manual plunging during this period ensures optimal color extraction. After five days, the tanks are sealed, and they are allowed to macerate for a further period, usually 10-14 days. This is followed by pressing, and the wine is transferred to barrels to begin the secondary fermentation. At the conclusion, a final quality control and analysis are performed, and the Reserve is then prepared for barrel aging. Bottling is followed by hand-labeling and further maturation in the bottle.

Classic Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, and hints of violet are supported by a vibrant nose. Aromas of graphite and cedar complement the overall complexity and sophistication. A powerful introduction showcases sweet, ripe black fruit balanced by full-bodied, structured tannins. A lingering finish and beautifully rich mouthfeel, along with appetizing acidity, reveal great aging potential and an underlying elegance. 14.5% - 75 cl.
